Frivolous Friday: Remembering the Tokyo Olympics

This video of the opening ceremony for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games (mislabelled as the winter Olympics at Youtube) seems like an example of how China would like this summer's games to be remembered.

    i like the label the speaker gives the russians: "their [the americans] archrivals in competition"... sounds a bit like from a superhero-comic...

    and wow, i had no idea that hirohito continued to be emperor of japan!
